I haven't heard very much about Ithaca lately. My dad used to
have an Ithaca Model 37 before he retired from the P.D. he worked for (he sold it), and he said that when he was in Vietnam,
one of the guns that he used in the Navy was an Ithaca 37.
I think that it's a good design, both loading and ejecting through
one port, plus it's renowned to be bug-free, AND it's got a
steel receiver.
But where are they?
Is Ithaca still in business? I remember reading something about
Ithaca making an updated version of the 37 called the 87 about
five years ago, but I haven't seen anything since.
Anyone know?
