I posted in the previous thread (and edited my post to reflect that OP lives in England)...

You can ship brass in America no problems at all.

England might be a different story, I don't know.

Insert comment about "free country", "banned in Britain", etc, here.

From a recent experience shipping once-fired brass to the U.K.
As long as it does not have an active, live primer it's legal. Unprimed or fired brass is just scrap metal technically.
Bullets (the projectile , aka head or tip.) is also legal as long as it is inert. Things like AP, tracers, Incendiaries & so on will be determined by the inserted material but ball (FMJ) & HP/SP should be fine.

I saw your response in the other thread and I wondered why you bothered to post at all, since you didn't answer his question.

Remember Kirk's First Law of the Internet: If it's the law in Texas, it's the law everywhere.

I never understand why posts that specifically ask "Is this legal is {location A}?" always seem to generate a dozen responses on the order of "I don't live in {location A} or know anything about it, but it's legal in {location Z}." Such responses don't answer the question, and may result in confusion.

This question should not generate snarky comments about "Banned in Britain," because it didn't ask about English laws. It specifically asked about an International trade agreement, which would apply to all countries that are signatory to it (which happens to include a whole bunch other than Great Britain).

Hi Guys,

Yes since i dont live in america, i dont know your laws, uk laws says brass cases are not band, so ITAR rules i dont know.

All i know is i want to shoot and reload, i buy all my reloading gear from the best country in the world America, the great land of the armed, the right to bear arms etc, great deals prices and on ebay too.
I have friends there so they help me all they can, which is nice and to add brass cases once fired or new would be great.

Anyway, thanking you for your advice, keep it coming.
cheers chris

Finally, an answer based on the actual regulation. But there is no Category III, (1). The first level under Category III should be a lower case letter, and the numbers in parens are subservient to the letters.

Looks like the prohibition is actually under Category III (d), and the operative definition is under cat III (f)(1)

Thank you, Brickeyee, for finally providing a useful response.

One qyestion asks can i and the other asks about certain regs ITAR.

That's what we call a distinction with no difference.

One question asks, "is it legal to ship empty brass cases from the states to england in 30/30 cal."

The other asks, "does ITAR, international trade arms regulations ban bullet brass from been shipped from the states to england, empty brass cases only"

One asks if it is legal and the other asks if there is an ITAR prohibition.

I don't see the difference.

We frown on duplicate posts here and frown even bigger on gaming the rules.

This one is closed.
