Does Hogue make a grip for the Ruger 22/45 .22 Rimfire?

I know that Hogue makes the MK II hogue grips, but do they make one for the 22/45? Their website is vague..

Yes, they do -- my buddy has one on his blued 5" bull barrel 22/45. If you can't find one, let me know and I'll ask him where he obtained his grip.

I've got the Hogue Handall grip slipped on my 22/45 grip frame. Works great, and has lasted for years. $9, if I remember correctly.

Good Luck...

I don't think you can do anything with the Grips of the 22/45, as I think it is a polymer frame gun with integral grips. (Perhaps I'm wrong, and the grip panels can be removed...) But even if they can be removed, I've never seen replacement grips.

You can use the Hogue (or comparable) handall slip on grips, but that's not really much of a solution if you're looking for new grips.

If you use a HandAll, how do you field strip the gun for cleaning? Or am I just being anal by tearing it down for cleaning after every trip out?

I clean after each range trip, so the handall is not an option for me. I put a piece of skateboard/stair tape on the front strap and 2 thin pieces on the backstrap, one on each side of the mainspring. It works great, is inexpensive and allows the gun to be stripped after each session. You can buy it at your local hardware store for about $.50 per foot. Just be sure to de-grease the area where you are going to put it or it won't stick. Simple Green works well for the de-grease job. Good luck.

The hogue handall will fit the 22/45. I have one on my Ruger P95 and it works great. However, getting it off either gun is not easy. Since it has to be taken off the 22/45 to disassemble and clean the gun there are 4 options:

1. Never clean it.
2. Spend $9 and cut it off each time you clean it
3. Allocate a day to removing it.
4. Live with the grips or get a new gun.
