Does FN make AR uppers for civilian sale?

On my time in active duty I noticed M-16A2 barrels that had the markings CMP 1/7 NATO. These are the same markings on the colt barrel in my AR. So Colt makes some barrels for the military-fine. The national Gaurd M-16A2 barrels are marked FN MP 1/7 Nato. Does FN offer any AR parts to civilians? Just curious

I've read at AR15.com that Model 1 Sales supplies FN made parts. Which parts I am unsure of. Perhaps one of our members who also frequents that site can help.

As far as I know, FN does not sell any rifles or complete uppers directly into the civilian market, but they do supply parts to several of the vendors in the market--kit suppliers and others. At least some of them claim to use some FN parts. There has been some discussion of this over at www.ar15.com . You might try a search in the discussion forum over there.
