I discovered CLP about a year ago and use it on all of my firearms as a rust and corrosion preventative; it works great. However, since I regularly touch the metal on my shotgun receiver and occasionaly get it on my hands, and certainly inhale some vapors, I was wondering if it contained some nasty cancer causing agents and should I change to something else.

I think everything causes cancer if you're exposed to enough of it.

Wash your hands after you clean your gun and after shooting. That dust on your hands can be pretty bad for you.

I was just about to say what Porter said: Everything causes cancer. Don't stress over it, just wash your hands after you clean your guns.

Read the label on the container. It should list the ingredients. If that isn't enough, you can contact the manufacturer and they must tell you what is in it. If you request an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), they must send you one. This will provide you with a lot of info. If you still aren't sure, see your doctor with this information.
