Does anyone recognize this RCBS decapper?

At a local sporting goods store I was given a free decapper (someone had stolen the rest of the set).

The fellow who gave it to me wasn't a reloader and didn't know what set it belonged to. He was just following his boss's instructions to "Give it to a reloader". (The boss also wasn't there).

I lucked into it as I was buying some bullets and so was recognized by him as a reloader.

Anyway the side of the decapper is labeled "RCBS UNI DECAP ......13"

Does anyone know what caliber this is for?

...As I'm looking at it I'm wondering if the "UNI" might stand for universal as the expander ball looks awfully small.

But if it is I have several questions - like "Does RCBS even make a universal decapper?" (I know of Lee's, as I have one of theirs that I bought for use with military brass, but I'm unaware if RCBS makes one). If they do make one then what RCBS die set would include a universal decapper? (It was supposed to be an orphan from a set - the others being stolen). Plus if it is a universal decapper why did they give it away?

"Does RCBS even make a universal decapper?"

They make two of them, one is for 22-25 and the other is 27-45 caliber. I have the second one.

I have no idea what the 13" on your description is. I use mine all the time, it simply punches out he primer without resizing anything.

If I'm depriming 9mm's I put it in my LNL-AP and take the other dies out and fill my case feeder and have at it. I deprime my cases before cleaning them.

I use mine on my Dillon or Forster, you want to use them on a press that "captures" the spent primer or the spent primer winds up halfway across the room, in various directions and trajectories.

Don't believe "there was a rest of a set", as universal decappers are made by several companies, including Lee and RCBS. They are available as a single item.

It's a universal decapping die.

The 13 is unrelated.
It's either a year or a lot number.

It would not have been in a set, at least none that I am aware of. The shop just screwed up, didn't know what it was, and you got a free die.

Purchased the RCBS large and small decapping dies this past December, an individual die inside the traditional RCBS 3 die green box. Agree with others, the clerk screwed up.

Thanks for the replies.

Maybe it was a set with a large and small decapper? And the thief took the small decapper - along with the box (it looks to me to be the 27-45 caliber sized decapper that I was given).

Though I really don't understand why a thief would only take part of a set.

Next time I go to town I'll have to stop in and find out if I should give it back.

-Thinking back, I am sure it wasn't the clerks' mistake as there was a note attached to the die telling him to give it away, but I'll check anyway. (Could have been the managers).

I'm guessing a mistake.
The staff were probably used to seeing more of the stations in the box filled & just fluffed it.
The bullet puller is the same a single die in a 3 position box.
