Does anyone own BOTH the M&P 45 4-inch and 4.5 inch?

Hi folks,

I am speaking to those of you who actually own both the M&P45 4-inch and M&P45 4.5 inch models, along with those who may share my interest in this comparison.

What is your comparative experience in terms of accuracy and thump between these two models? It would be great to hear about chrono'd comparisons, gel test comparisons, etc., but just your seat of the pants reaction to shooting both guns would be interesting to hear as well...

Thanks in advance for sharing.

Perhaps you just missed the part in the other thread where I mentioned that I used to own the 4.5". I sold it. I still own the 4".

In my hands, I find the 4" to be more accurate for me, but that's not terribly unusual with me. Recoil impulse seems a bit sharper but with faster recovery. The recoil on the 4.5 felt... cludgy. Not as sharp but I just didn't like it as much.

The 4" felt like it had more recoil than I was expecting, but after getting used to that, it returns to target faster.

Sorry I don't have any chrono tests or ballistics gel tests.

I am not interested in speculation, references to generic data, theoretical extrapolations based on unproven assumptions... I got all that in a different thread when I dared ask the question.

Interpolation, not extrapolation. Wasn't even theoretical either...

Yes, I did miss that.

I appreciate your sharing of first-hand experience relevant to my question here, and your way of characterizing the differences is easy to relate to.

Thanks,
Frankly.

rent the one you don't have from the gun range you belong to.

If you do not have experience relevant to the OP, why do you feel the need to insert yourself?

I saw it. I was correcting a mistake in that OP, which is relevant to the OP. I see you edited the OP since then. Thanks.
