Does Anyone Own A Springfield XD?

Saw their ad in SN and was wondering if they've hit the stores yet.Anyone know if they are/will be Massachusetts compliant? They seem to have all the features to be.

Take a pass or look for an HS2000 used and save the money.

As a Springfield product, the price is too high. Heck, just say a G23 with night sights used like new for $399.99.

Why?

Take a look at hs2000talk.com for the story. Best place to find information from people who've actually shot / owned the gun.

HS2000's and new Glocks aren't MA compliant and used Glocks sell in the $600+ price range. That's why I was wondering.

KPS: I don't know about availability in Mass yet, but they've hit the stores here in Pennsylvania and they're on California's approved list, for what that's worth.

What is it about the Glocks and the HS2000 that kept them from the Mass list.

As Railroader suggests, contact Springfield. They just posted the California info at HS2000-Talk the other day. They're definitely keeping the fan base informed.

By the way, if the XD is on the approved list, and if you find the pistol to be a comfortable fit, it's well worth the price --- no matter what you've heard to the contrary. Some folk are upset because Springfield has now priced them at realistic levels, a hundred bucks or so above the ridiculously low "come-on" price when Intrac introduced the HS2000 to the market.

Its quality, performance, and reliability is on par with the other big names, just as you'd expect from Springfield. No sense buying "used" when comparable "new" is available at the same (or lower) price. My Gen 1 has got well over 6,000 flawless rounds through it, and it'll run with my SIG 225 and SIG 239 all day. It also put my S&W 6906 and Kahr P9 to shame (both since departed from my stable).

Again, the XD is a quality pistol that is more than realistically priced.

Take care. Marko

Ditto HS2000, although, with the name, I sense a bias. That's ok though, I am biased too. The XD will take off and be recognized as an excellent choice regardless of it's price increase. The HS's price was ridiculously low. That's why I've got two! I keep toying with the idea of selling or trading, but each time I've gotten close I say, "What are you thinking of?", then I don't do it. It's the habit of buying, selling and trading, not the HS that makes me want to get rid of it. This is a quality piece and it just might break my selling and trading habit.

As with most new hanguns today, they don't meet MA consumer safety guidelines. It's great to live in a state that cares about my safety :barf:
