Does anyone like the Tarus Judge

I know two people who bought one. Neither carries it. One has fired it once (one range session about 25 total rounds, .410 and .45LC combined); the other has never fired his.
I am pretty certain that this is Taurus's target demographic.

I don't care for the concept and wouldn't buy one even if it was made by Colt.

OTOH, if Colt had made a very few a long time ago and I ran across one at a low price I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. (But I wouldn't shoot it. :))

Yes, I like my Judge. I have a Public Defender Polymer and it is my everyday carry gun.
I had trouble with my first one, it developed a crack in the frame. Taurus replaced it and I have had no problems with it since.
With the right ammo, the .410 is fine for defensive use.
Here is a video of shooting results from my last time out. I carry mine with Federal OOO buck. Good patterns out to 15 yards, will fully penetrate 4 water filled gallon jugs.

I know a guy who carrys one EDC.

Personally I have heard to many bad things with Taurus and the Judge(any thing they make in revolvers)

I will look at the new S&W 410 handgun.

I have one and it is an ok gun. I would not trust my life to it but it gets a lot of attention at the range. If the range is crowded at all I will all ways have people ask to try it out.

I think if you don't expect too much from them they are ok. I would not use it for protection unless I had no other choice but it is fun at the range.

My wife got one for horse back riding in snake country, She likes it. She's acutally killed a couple rattlers.

I shot one under the porch with her judge.

I've played with it shooting clay pigons, trip the lever, draw and fire. Not real easy to do but fun to try. We haven't had any problems with it.

I've owned a 44-Ten Tracker (before they called it "The Judge") since 2006. I don't carry it, I carry a Taurus 1911. It, the 44-Ten, is one of the most fun guns I own; and there's not a thing wrong with owning and shooting a gun just because it is FUN! Like the above poster it is a whole buncha fun to pull the lever and draw and fire at clay pigeons. With #9 shotshells, I do occasionally get one ... but you gotta be quick. My gun shoots 45 Colt handloads fairly accurately up to 50 yards; nothing like my Blackhawk, but it can and does get the job done. I have 1200+ rounds of 45 handloads (255 g. Lasercast @ 980 fps.) and 2800 shotshells (mostly birdshot) thru the gun with no problems at all, I locks up just as tight today (as tight as any Ruger or Smith I own) as it did the day I brought it home.

My wife keeps the 44-Ten on her bedside table loaded with 000 Buck Personal Defense shells.

Yeah, I like the Taurus Judge.

only those that don't realize it's only good for snakes, not defense. (well some do realize it's only good for snakes lol)

My brother-in-law has one and uses it for snakes. I had the opportunity to shoot one at the range. 3 round of 45 Colt and 2 shot shell. The Colt rounds were plenty accurate for self defense in my opinion. The pistol was pleasant to shoot too. After shooting the shot shells I could see where it would make a nice snake pistol too. I don't own one but if I was to frequent snake country I would consider one.

I have not shot one. We were talking about getting one for the wife for home defense. But, after handling it, neither one of us wanted it. It feels to me like the handle is really thick, and short. It felt to me like I could not get all my fingers on it and it was way too big for my tiny wife. I love the idea though. I think it is great how they have come out with the .410 shells specifically for it for home defense. They work great for her .410 shotgun.
It does seem like a hoot and if money was not so short and my list was not so long I would get one in a heartbeat. It's pretty cool, I think it was Rossi who used it and turned it into a long gun. Ugly as sin but interesting. (not on my list at all)

I might consider a Circuit Judge if they cost a bit less but they really aren't good for anything but goofing around which I'm really good at. It may be my perfect gun!;)

I don't own one, . . . probably won't either.

It is not a concept I am comfortable with. Anything I need doing with a handgun, . . . I can do with a 1911, . . . and most of them will be done by the 1911 better than they would have been done by the judge.

May God bless,
Dwight
