Does anyone know the difference between Glock 36 ejectors?

Some guy looked at my G36 today and said I had the older ejector, and I did'nt know what he was talking about. Maybe I have been out of touch for too long.
In '99 when I took the Armorers Course the G36 had not been released. In my notes I found a brief mention that the original G36 had a short stubby 4340 ejector which was replaced by the 8196-2 which is on my personal gun. I looked on Glockmiester parts list to see an 8203 trigger housing w/ejector @ $8.00.
Does anyone know the story here?

I was on the phone with Glock this morning for something else.
I would be embarrassed to ask them this question. Maybe I could request some updated pages that include the G36 for my '99 manual, but that might take several weeks.

Nevermind, I posted the question over there. If I get answer I'll post here. I'm interested in a used 36 myself.

I just got off the phone with my old buddy @ Glock. From now on I will never believe anything Glock related (rumor or otherwise) on the Web or around the counter at a gun store again.
I argued yesterday that my gun shot flawlessly, and I was not aware of any changes.
Now, from the horses mouth................Glock 36 (2 + yrs. ago) during testing had a 4340 ejector. They later switched to a 8196-1 still during testing. The final product was the 8196-2 which is still current and if you own a G36 when you have it field stripped look at the inside of your ejector (pointed metal sticking out from your trigger housing) you will see the 8196-2 numbers. I love my G36 because it is perfect just the way it came out of it's tuppleware box. Because of it's narrow grip with finger groves my smaller hand fits it perfectly. In a smaller package than a G19/9mm it's hard to believe I'm shooting hefty .45 cal without noticing any additional recoil. Try it you'll like it!
