If so, I was wondering how pleased you are with it. So many people got on the HK P-7 refurb bandwagon that I wondered about the 210. I haven't seen too many posts on this topic.

I bought one and I am very happy with it. The problem I have always had with the P210 is the hammer bite. Whether I shoot it one or two handed or change grips doesn't matter, it still bites. So on the Danish gun I had a beavertail welded up and formed as well as had the small blade sights replaced by a set of Novaks. Welding and milling on a new P210 is a evil act according to some. The pistol is every bit as accurate as a 'real' P210, in fact a couple of the pistols that came in were marked Hammerli on the slide and frames, but those were kept by Dave the owner of DSA who imported the pistols.

I had a Danish m/49 P 210 for awhile...I never really own guns, just "adopt" them for a time. Anyway, my example was a great pistol. I found it in a local gunshop on consignment for far less than it was worth. It had been refurbished by SIG and had been tastefully refinished (parkerized). It was an unbelievably accurate gun; I used to call it my "no excuses" pistol because any error in shot placement was invariably the result of the shooter. I think I sold it because I discovered that my used $300 S&W 686 shooting cheap reloads proved to be just as accurate in my hands. Well, that and somebody offered me alot of money for it. I do so wish I had it back, though. A number of them were imported 3-4 years ago and sold at fire-sale prices, about $700-850 as I recall. I don't think you'd be able to find one at those prices now...probably closer to $900-1000 for one in good shape. They do surface from time to time on gunsamerica.com, you might want to keep an eye peeled there and at some of the online auction sites. IMO, there's little to recommend any other variant of the P 210 over the Danish m/49, unless you absolutely must have a target trigger, better sights, etc. The Danish contract pieces are all P 210, every inch. Good Luck!

Well I took the plunge and traded up for one of the Danish M-49's. My only concern is that with the newer 210's coming out how it will effect the value of some of these older ones. I have yet to see any of the new ones for sale tho. Over all the only thing that detracts from the finish and look of the pistol is some light pitting marks on the slide that have been reblued over. Does anyone know if those can be removed by bead blasting or ??? I can't wait to see how this thing shoots! :D

Jspy, it will be a wealthy gun shop to keep the new ones in stock

The new ones are available and in the country. Unfortunately not many(if any) distributors are even stocking them because of the small markup they get based on Sigs MSRP.

Add to the fact that nondistributors(gun stores) after the first of October have a minimum order of $4000 to order direct up from $3000(can't include any pistols available through distribution) and you can see why you don't see many if any out there of the new models.

Sig is shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak.

I will have my new P210 next week.

Regarding the NEW P-210s...

I just sold a P-210-6 (I know, I know, I must be crazy... but actually, I had a newly-purchased truck to pay for, and the P-210 represented about a 1/3 of the purchase price.)

I shipped it to the new owner's gunsmith, in Fl., and the gunsmith had a chance to compare mine (made in 1978, but bought new two years ago) to a new one. He said the old one had a much nicer trigger. Much nicer. No comparison.

I won't be surprised to see the older ones hold their value or even increase in value.

Everyone I've talked to who has worked with both the M-49s and the P-210s say the M-49s are not quite a nice as the P-210s. According to the experts (including shooters on the SIG forum), the M-49s are fine guns, well-worth the money, but not quite as nice as the commercial P-210s.

Then too, a fews of the M-49s have alloy frames -- a special production run for the Danish police forces.

I'd expect there to be some difference in quality, since the M-49s are refurbished ex-military and ex-police guns, that had a life prior to being imported to the US.

Does anyone posting here have both, or has anyone shot both, side by side? I've only seen (handled, but not shot) one M-49; it was not as nicely finished as my P-210-6; and because the P-210-6 had a "match" trigger, its unlikely the M-49 was a match in that category, either.
