Does anyone have any info on the American Arms Inc. escort?

My local gun shop has had one in a display case for well over a year. All I know is it looks really slim and very nice and its a 380 acp.

I can not find any info on these on the web. Does anyone have a working web address with more info?

Thanks

I don't believe that they are made anymore. As you pointed out they are very flat, not much thicker than a cigarette. They were made in Italy and the importer American Arms was in Kansas City. Fred Baker Firearms in OKC was a distributor and many were sold through Outdoor America in OKC. I found mine used for $200 in the OKC Bargain Post. They are very accurate considering the price point of the pistol.

Thanks for the reply. What are your impressions of the pistol, is it a poor choice for CCW is I am looking at 380s?

Thanks

I've got one that is a real doll to shoot. Probably one of the smoothest DA triggers I've ever shot. It's bigger than most of my .380's, but since it's so thin it's easier to carry.

Definately, not the most common piece, but it will certainly do the job. Mine has been 100% reliable, tho' to be honest I only have 600rds thru it and most of that has been FMJ. The .380 is on the iffy side for defense in most people's books, and shot placement is crucial, but the Escort's design makes it easy to get a good grip on and still be concealable.
