Does anybody see trouble brewing in the Middle East?

Watching the Israeli thing unfold. I bet this will get worse before it gets better. The Jews look like they'll roll over Arafat and settle the Palestinian question for good. The only hope for the PLO is that the other Arab countries come to their aid. If I were in Israel now, I would be seriously contemplating getting my family out of the country. Things are looking grim.

Will be interesting to see how current administration deals with this pesky problem. The White House is probably waiting for orders from Beijing. ;)

Nah, can't happen. Klinton kured the problems in the Middle East just like the problems in N. Ireland right :(

Course maybe somebody just got around to translating the infamous cigar story to Yassar.

What Fred S said, plus, trouble in the Middle East has been ongoing since records have been kept. Trouble is the norm, not the exception there.

Yeah, but after spending almost his entire term in office slapping Israel in the face, Hillary needs the NY Jewish vote! Now what side are we on? Notice that we abstained from voting for the UN Resolution condemning Israel? We could have veto'd it but Hillary is ahead in the polls anyway. If she were 3 or 4 points behind, we'd have vetoed it, and sent Israel more high-tech weaponry. While I support Israel and always will, I think to do it over the NY Jewish vote is rediculous. The reason I support them is because they have always been our ally in the ME. Arafat rolled the dice, and decided to hold out for more than what he was entitled to IMO. Now he's starting a war that might truly end the Palestinian question.

Sorry to be the wet towel, but this is waaay OT. And I doubt if everyone here has the same view on this that kjm has, I don't think everyone is going to support Israel. Do we really want to start a war HERE on this topic? I hope not. This may be one for the Range House. Yes?
