Does ANYBODY like rubber?

I usually don't like rubber grips on my revolvers, but this pair of Butler Creek Boot Grips are actually pretty decent on my 4 inch Model 19.

I know, the wood ones from Spegel would look so much better, but these are fairly hard rubber and don't hang up on my shirt when carrying concealed like most rubber does. Plus they were only 12 bucks.

In the looks department, they are passable, but functionally they work well. Anyone else use these?

I will go say 3 "Hail Marys" to the great wood goddess now.

:)

I've got rubber boot grips on my 940, and I've got rubber Hogues on my BHP. Frankly, I've used a lot of rubber grips.

Rubber says "functionality" to me. Which is why I didn't mind taking a file (of all things) to the grips on the 940, and making them fit my paws. Sure, they're ugly. So's the 940. They work.

Now, I handled a lovely unfired .38 Police Positive this weekend - it would have been a sin to put rubber grips on that puppy.

The four revolvers I currently own, all S&W, all have rubber furniture but do not always wear it.

The Model 38 2" mostly wears Uncle Mikes's boot grips, sometimes the original diamond grip with a Tyler-T Grip adapter.

The Model 65 3" has a set of Pachmayr Compac's. Occasionlly the original wood with a Tyler-T

The Model 19 wears the Uncle Mike's combat grip when I carry it or the Cocobolo wood for fancy happenings. When my wife uses it it wears a pair of old Model 10 grips with a Tyler-T.

Last but not least my Model 25 has the newer round butt style with factory Hogue's. I have had no reason to put anthing else on it. If some fancy wood finds its way home maybe it will be promoted to the Bar B Que gun.

I like the functionality of the boot grips on my S&W mod 60 and would like to get a pair for my mod 65 sq butt, I would like to find out where you got a pair for 12 bucks.
I would prefer to have wood grips on my revolvers but finances dictate having to go with functionality.

S&W's original wood grips just could not suck any worse.

Amen Brother. The only cure for those things is a few minutes with a file and some sandpaper. Otherwise they just eat into your palms. The shape isn't bad to me...it's those useless grooves around the checkering!!!

I've got the stock rubber grips on my 686 and like 'em just fine. They're a little big for concealed carry, but I don't carry it that way.

I really like the "ribber" grips on my Taurus 617Ti. I know that some people don't like them, but that's why they make so many flavors of ice cream.

Woody

I hadn't paid much attention to it, but did anybody notice the size of the hole in the skull in my first picture?

Whoa!!

Actually looks like ancient trepan technique.
Perhaps using artifact to the left.
The Relic Hunter.

I like rubber. If you're serious about "control" and "comfort" in a 41 magnum or above rubber is the only way to go.
Wood is pretty but comfortable it ain't. Best, John

rubber grips

The only revolver I own that don't wear a pair of rubber grips is on coyboy action type stuff.
Anybody know who makes good mother-of-pearl grips for a ruger bird's head vaquero???

I own three S&W Revolvers

and all of them have rubber grips. My favorite is the Uncle-Mikes Combat grips. I like the way Wood grips look, I just don't care for how they feel when the guns recoils. ;)

Hogues and Uncle Mikes. Uncanny how the rubber absorbs the recoil. Very easy shooting .357 in the model 19
Like your Butler Creeks

Roger,

What kind of camera are you using?

I've borrowed a Sony Mavica, an older one, and I'm not really impressed.

Your pictures, though, are VERY clear. Quite impressive.

Yes, I like rubber handgun grips; such as Hogue's and
Pachmayr's. Use 'em on all my revolvers; but stick with
factory grips on all my Sig's.

Best Wishes,
