Do you use Wolf ammo with your revolvers?

I will never again use Wolf ammo in any semi-auto rifle/pistol, but think it would be great inexpensive plinkin ammo.

Many of the Wolf concerns make sense for a semi-auto but can not think of any issue when used with a revolver.

Any input on using Wolf ammo with a revolver?

I don't use Wolf, period. There are those who like it; however, I don't believe it's worth the risks (cylinder gunk from the varnish, damage and extra wear from the steel cases, and so forth).

Now you raise a good point re revolver use. Certainly, the above issues are less problematic in a wheelgun. But, when good and inexpensive ammo (Winchester White Box, S&B, Federal American Eagle, etc.) is readily available, I am simply not will to risk any concerns to a $500 to $1000 revolver to save pennies.

I don't use any Wolf ammo in the handgun calibers for the simple reason that I can reload handgun ammo cheaper than Wolf can sell it to me ($3 per box for .45, even less for .38s). If you're shooting enough to look into cheaper ammo, try looking into reloading.

I won't use it in my firearms nor sell it in my shop. You want to save a penny to cost a dollar, that's your problem -- just don't come in my place bitching about your piece being hosed!

It would be less risky in a wheelgun, but not worth it IMO. Remember they have been caught using corrosive primers. Who needs that crap?

I had only used the 9mm in my CZ75B (w/o any problems) until Sunday when I ran a couple of boxes through my newly aquired Blackhawk .357/9mm Convertible. Accuracy was better than I expected. Only drawback are the steel cases which tend to stick in the cylinder awhile before they contract. It took a couple of turns and some push on the ejector to get them out. I had a similar problem with Aguilla .22LR out of my old H&R 922 & ended up pushing them out by hand (one reason I always pack a cleaning rod in my range bag). I'll run the rest of the case only through the CZ75B and pick up some brass cased 9mm for the Blackhawk.

I use wolf in my Makarov. I tried it in my 625 and had no end of problems, never again. Screwed up in my auto's too.

It was the only ammo ever to jam in my Sig 220!

The Mak is the only gun to handle it without too many problems:rolleyes:

It works great in my Makarov, and in my 1911 clone, but it's not that accurate in the latter, and it is VERY dirty. I won't try it in my future S&W 625.

Used "Wolf" ammo ONCE in a handgun--an otherwise-reliable Ruger KP-95DC--that wouldn't go one whole mag without MF-ing on the stuff...NEVER AGAIN!!! OTOH, it works okay in the SKS and AK clones...the Chinese ones, anyway....mikey357

Wolf 45 fired OK from my Glock 30, but several cases jammed in the bore of my HK USP Compact (had to push them out with a cleaning rod). Wolf ammo seems too unreliable for me to buy any more of it.

I don't use Wolf ammo ever. I value my gun too highly and I'd like to keep them functioning.

Wolf is dirty, smelly, very bad ammo that seems to maliciously try to damage your firearms.
