Do You Need To Cool Handgun Barrels?

I just shot 150 rounds through my CZ 75B .40SW today. I only brought this one gun so I shot all 150 rounds without much of a break. The gun got pretty hot. It was like 120 degrees inside the range, as well.

When I shoot my rifles, I let the barrels cool down when they get hot. That said, the 30-06, 5.56, and .300 mag rounds that I shoot are much higher velocity than any pistol round. I am sure that rifle barrels get much hotter due to this. I doubt pistol barrels can get as hot as rifle barrels, so I don't think they need to cool down.

What do you guys think? Could I hurt my barrels shooting 150-200 rounds without a cool down?

No, you simply can't get the pistol barrel hot enough (by semi-auto shooting) for the steel to start changing structure.
You still can get pretty nasty burns trying to touch it though :-)
