do you like the green or blue crayons on your cast bullets???

I personally haven't noticed much difference... between the bullet lube on either the Hunter's Supply / Oregon Trail Laser Cast (green) or Meister Hard Cast / Cast Performance (blue) with either the 38 special or 45 Colt bullets I use for CAS... maybe there's a slight preference to the blue... but honestly might because blue is one of my favorite colors :o

I'm starting to shoot more lead bullets at higher velocities than I shoot my CAS loads at... in particular I'm talking 44 Special right now, & thinking about 3/4 of the way up the load scale with 240 grain bullets... once I find the time to start casting, I'll be using my retired buddies "special" blend... but as life just doesn't seem to want to slow down, I may be buying factory cast bullets for a while...

anyone notice a difference between the green or blue lubes at velocities over normal CAS levels???

Well just so happens I have shot both brands that you mentioned. However I have to say the Cast Performance were only in the 45 cal. 260gr WFN version. I did however run them to just a smooch over 1675fps out of my Raging Bull in 454 though. They shot great and slapped a few hogs down REAL hard.

In the Oregon Trail though I have shot them in plenty of calibers from 30 Carbine up through my 454. I have rocked them out up to the top end loads listed in their manual as well as a few I worked up on my own. No issues with them either.

I will however suggest that if you DO get into doing your own. You should get in touch with White Label Lubes and work with them on what will work for your shooting needs. I use their lubes religiously and haven't had any issues which I can say were a result of lube failure. I can however lay claim to not using the "right" lube for the loads I shot, but that isn't their fault I was a dummy.
