Do you know the year of this Colt?

I went to the local EVIL PAWN SHOP and found a Colt Trooper MK III in 95% condition. The serial is 76919J. Can anyone please tell me the date a manufacture? Thanks much.

Thank you

That is awesome. Thanks a bunch. It looks great. I didn't get much of a deal on it though. The guy told me that it had only been put of pawn for a few days. It had the original grips that were immaculate, and there was not even a cylinder ring on it. From the looks of the bore, it has been fired very little. I purchased some rubber grips for it for range time. I don't want to mess up the originals.
Thanks again.

Hey Hedge...

If you didn't know what DLiller is referring to, and for future reference, "Proof House" is right here. It's not Fjestad's Blue Book... but it is free.

Cheers,
C

A word of caution about the Trooper Mk. III: do not dry fire it without snap caps. The firing pin of that particular revolver is prone to breakage if dry fired without snap caps and the Colt factory is the only place with the tools to replace it.
