Do you carry +P or standard press. ammo in your small 9mm?

I have only shot about three magazines of +P in my MK9, and I am very impressed with the controlability and accuracy of the gun.
However, I can get almost pinpoint accuracy with standard pressure Hydra-Shoks.
Until I get more practice with the hot stuff, I'll carry the milder load.
My logic is; under pressure, I'm not going to be as accurate as I would like to be anyway, so I need to carry the most accurate load I can.

If you have a small 9mm as your CCW, what ammo do you carry?

Any other thoughts appreciated.

I carry the 124-grain Hydra-Shok JHPs in my Sig P239. Nice smooth-shooting round. I enjoy shooting +P in .38spl - really makes for a good shooter, but I haven't found a real shooting advantage with the +P in 9mm. Maybe I just haven't shot those loads enough?

The first couple years I carried my Kahr K9, I carried Triton Quik-Shoks but found them too costly to practice with.

Two years ago switched over to Georgia Arms 115gr +P+ Gold Dots and haven't looked back. They are easily controllable and plenty powerful, and being from G-A, they're affordable as well.

Electroless nickel Kahr and (expanded) carry load below.

I used to use Fed. Hydrashok 124 gr in my MK9, but I found them to have a HUGE muzzle flash. Changed to Remington 115gr +P+ (not Golden Sabre, just green box) and found they have much less muzzle flash. I didn't notice any real difference in recoil.

Standard velocity Gold Dots in the P226.

+P velocity Gold Dots in the P228.

Both are as accurate as I am. Just want to get the most velocity I can out of the shorter barrel.

I have a couple boxes of 124 gr Speer Gold Dots, each in the flavor of +P and regular pressure loads. However, I can't tell any difference between the two in shooting. Just for velocity sake, though, I still carry the +P loads.

I load my Keltec with 124gr.+P GoldDots. Yeah they kick a little bit more but not much. The gun is still very controlable for me and under extreme stress you`re not gonna notice the recoil of a .454 Casull let alone a 9mm+P. In many actual shooting the participants report that they noticed no recoil at all and often they say the shots sounded like a "pop" rather and a "BANG!!!". If you don`t subscribe to that way of thinking though you may still want to carry the non +Ps. It`s more important to have 100% confidence in your ability/weapon/load than to gain a few FPS IMO. No matter how hard I try, I just can't break the habit of loading my P-11 with CCI 115gr +P+ gold dots. I figure that every little bit of edge helps.

Like tlhelmer, I too use:

Winchester 127 gr +P+ in my Kahr MK9. However, I did upgrade my springs to a 22.5 lb Wolff Extra Power recoil spring set.
