do they make these for an 1858 remmy?

Since you are going to cut your barrel, mounting the front sight on the side would be an option, but the cylinder would be in the way of a true alignment with a rear sight notched into the frame and a fixed sight would be too high unless you have a raised front sight. I don't really see how you could do it.
 
Girlfriend laughing now too!

I laughed so hard, so long, and am still giggling red in the face that my girlfriend came into the room and said, "what's so funny".

She's not real big into guns so I'm beginning to feel as though I might be spending too much time on here, she's staring at me now with that amused but not amused look.
