Do standard 16rnd CZ 75 mags fit the CZ 75 Compact? I know they would not fit flush. Does the CZ 75 Semicompact exist in America if so where to get one?

Legion, J&G Sales has the CZ 75 Compact listed at: http://www.jgsales.com/CZPISTOL.html#CZ-T
As for the full size mag fitting the Compact, I don't know for sure but suspect it would function fine. My reference says "The Compact's shortened magazine has a capacity of two rounds less than the standard magazine of a full-sized CZ 75." (Copyright 1997) I wonder just how hard it would be to find this type of mag...Good luck and let us know if you do get the Compact. -Gregg

Yes. They work just fine. I've found CDNN Investments to be the only place to get genuine factory preban mags for the Compact. At $70 they aren't cheap, but it beats not having them. If you order from them make sure to specify you want the mags with the curled base plate. Standard preban mags are much less expensive. They can be had from CZ-USA for $45 plus shipping.

I like the Compact a lot. I just find it quite heavy. But its reliability and accuracy are first rate.

So many pistols, so little money.

A friend of mine recently bought one of the CZ-75 Compact PCR models. This is a decocker model with an aluminum frame. It is a few ounces lighter than the standard all-steel compact. I like it a lot (I recommended it to him, and I'll probably get one myself one of these days).

We tried it with the standard size magazines and they worked fine in it (although they do stick out maybe 1/2"). I bought a couple of the compact high-cap magazines from CDNN (per Tecolote's recommendation) before the ban here in California, along with several of the cheaper full-sized magazines. I plan to carry the pistol with a compact magazine in place, and with a couple of full-sized magazines for extra ammo. The full-sized magazine doesn't matter when you are shooting (might even give a little better grip), the only disadvantage is that it makes the pistol larger to carry.
