Do-It Yourself Hi-Visibility sights?

So one of my other hobbies is Radio Control RC driving and racing, so I happen to have small jars of fluorescent paint for my airbrush. Years ago I did the sights on my P-22, the front fl. yellow and the rears fl. green. I am now out of fl. green and wanted to do hi-viz on my new mil-spec. On hand I have the bright white backer, fl. yellow, and fl.orange. After applying fresh bright white, I did fl.yellow front and fl. orange rears. Very easy to pick up, but my camera doesn't focus very well close up. Pics are with and without flash.
Anybody else try this? It has held up perfectly for 3+ years on the p22. BTW, no making fun of my sweet "house shoes" it is Sunday morn.....

Yes Sir, I have done this but only in RED. Have been experimenting with other colors and GREEN was disapointing. Glad you mentined the application of a WHITE base coat as it really makes it stand out .. :)

It is a lacquer-based paint for painting lexan RC car/truck bodyshells. Those are painted from the inside, and fluorescent colors are backed in white. It is this paint. Very important to start with a bright white first coat, as the fl colors can be a bit translucent

Here's a pic of the fluorescent racing red on a body shell. Very bright... If I had some, I may have done the rears in this color

Heck I can one up that, the nuke plant in Vermont just recently had a Tritium leak into the Conn. River on the N.H. border. All I have to do is get a vial from the source and I'm good to go, I know, your all GREEN from envy, damn I love Nuclear power.:D Just in case it doesn't work out I'll keep your tip on the plate.

I used my wife's red nail polish on the front site with great effect on several rifles and pistols.

I used my wife's sparkly blue on the front site of a makarov with wonderful results if slightly shall we say made fun of color choice.

It seems to hold up well.

Guess I just take the cheap way out.

It looks nice and easy to pick up. Good job, do you know if they make luminous paint like CZ uses on their sites that is also a hi viz color? If so, that would be even better.
