Do I help the wheel align after reloading?

When I load my S&W 642, I have a habit of moving the wheel until it clicks. Do I need to do this? What if it doesn't align properly? Does it cause a shorter trigger pull?

I have always rolled the cylinder after closing it is just a habit I have.
I have also just pulled the trigger I feel it is just a choice the Headspace and timing are controlled within the gun and not weather you move the Cylinder until it clicks

it doesn't really matter

you do not need to do this. as you pull the trigger, the hand/pawl raises and rotates the cylinder...same trigger stroke.

if the chamber really doesn't align, you get a "click ". if it's just good enough for ignition, you'll get "spitting" as lead shaves when the bullet makes the jump into the barrel.
