Distorted Scope Picture

The view through my Busnell scope (4-12 x 40) is skewed/distorted. The gun and scope perform great, so I can't really squawk too much, its just that the distorted view bugs me. Anybody else run into this? Thanks.
 
Lens quality......

This can often be attributed to the quality of the glass. A photographer on this board should be able to tell you all about the merits of high quality glass. Just a fact of life. I have a cheap ($50) Simmons that has this problem. However, none of the more expensive (>$300) scopes I have owned have had this problem.

heres a good test

scope a shingle roof at 50 yards
those shingles are set in straight lines

in low quality scopes the outer edges are spherically distorted
 
Only thing I would add to that is scope several roofs. I'm a building contractor, and I have seen some seriously bad roofing work.;)
