While you loose commonality, don't overlook the low cost per round of 9mm. Esp. once the current insanity ends. About the only thing cheaper to shoot is .22 rimfire.
It pays to shoot a NATO caliber. And with todays hollowpoints you need not feel undergunned with a 9.
I think the P-95 would be a fine choice.
