Display idea for Hardy.

Your thread got locked Hardy where you were asking for ideas of how to sell/display BP weapons in a store. So I posted this here for you. I had my BP collection out today anyway so I grouped it over a flag to give you an idea of how you could showcase/advertise your guns in a glass case in your store. Just one idea. You can modify and embellish upon it. But it's pretty hard to beat BP weapons against a background of red white and blue. See how this makes them nicely showcased compared to if they were in just a plain glass case with no backdrop under them?

A couple of photos of Confederate patriots Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and yes (grudgingly:D) even those dang yankee's :D Grant and Lincoln positioned in the display would go well too. (I didn't have a Confederate stars and bars nor bonnie blue flag handy). Actually if you used the bonnie blue flag which was a Confederate flag, not many people would realize it was a Confederate flag. So you wouldn't have to worry about being PC with an all blue flag with one white star in the middle of it bonnie blue flag. Only a few civil war savy people would even know what it was. Everyone else would think it was a "lone star" flag of Texas or something Lol.

Much more catchy than just sitting in a plain glass case don't you think?
Or if the display would be too big for any glass case you might have, you could mount a rumpled flag on the wall like that, and then attach pegs through the flag to the wall where you could hang the revolvers and rifles over the flag. Wouldn't be in a glass case but would be easy to pull off the pegs on the wall to hand to customers to check out. Just an idea and food for thought for you.

Confederate "Bonnie Blue Flag" you could use to be PC because very few would even know it was a Confederate flag. So almost no one would rag on you about having a Confederate flag display in your store. Most people that didn't know about civil war flags would confuse it with the Texas state flag.

Print of Confederate soldiers singing Hurrah! Hurrah! for "The Bonnie Blue Flag" song, (even though the stars and bars are the only flag there and no Bonnie Blue Flag is in the print!). Followed by the cover sheet for the Confederate song about the flag music cover sheet. Would make nice prints to put in your display Hardy.

Wouldn't this Bonnie Blue Flag buckle make a sweet looking belt buckle for a holster rig in your store? I just might order that buckle myself from this link.....http://dixierepublic.com/BeltBuckles.htm

Your display is beautiful! Will pick up on that. Aw, the other thread got locked. I hope it wasn't my fault. I just thought that (the you know who) was ok and I just asked for his experience or interest in this (BP shootin) to ease or support his posts with our other fellows. Anyway thanks. :D No bad intent was meant. I guess computer talk can be misconstrued .

WE have three display counters. 1 features 2 rows of ubertis and Piettas. The 2nd is reserved for 2nd gen colts and the 3rd has 3rd gen colts.

Again, after seeing BP passionate shooters that come in store, The 3rd gen colts are what they want. Why? They are Colts and are no longer in production and not priced too much higher than ubertis. The 2nd's are too expensive. I've had 3 3rd 1849 pockets that went like hotcakes--the 2nd gen baby dragoon is still asleep it her cradle:D
 
If your patrons like Colts best, You might want to download & even blow up in photoshop and print out this picture of Samuel Colt for your display Hardy.

Anything you can do to jazz up the ambiance and background surrounding your BP weapons will help sell them. I have found that out by buying and selling myself on gunbroker. Some time ago I put a nice Mosin Nagant rifle on gunbroker for a reasonable price. No bids. Then I composed and took pics of it on a velvet red towel along with a Russian submarine commander's hat next to it, put those pics in my ad and it sold right away.
I learned that the better the display on gunbroker, the better the item sells. There's an old saying...."It's not necessarily the steak, it's the sizzle". Lol. It was the exact same rifle as in my earlier pics, only this time it was against velvet red with a Russian submarine commander's hat laying next to it (hat wasn't included in the auction).

It's psychological and it works. Like sex appeal selling toothpaste or suntan oil Lol.

Oh how easily led we humans are Lol.

remmys are better but I like the colt open top because when you cock it you see exactly if if it rotated to firing position properly. To check a good colt gun, see if loading plunger drops smooth I mean liquid smooth into the chamber at 6 oclock when cocked at 12--firing position. You know that but newbies might not. I've sent a lot of guns back to distributor if they don't meet that test.
 
I like Bill's idea, too, and it looks great.

I don't know how much organized black powder shooting there is in your area, but if there's anything, or any kind of reenacting, maybe you can make arrangements to be on site for matches and that sort of thing.
