ARRRGH! I'm so mad, I can hardly type. There was a full-page ad in the San Jose Mercury News today for a web site call www.MightyWords.com. It's a site to sell "eMatter" books and articles for download.

To promote this, they commissioned essays on the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights. They're giving these away free.

The essay on the 2nd is the worst piece of crap I've seen in a while. Total distortion of the truth. This guy obviously didn't set foot in a library to research. Go see for yourself at http://www1.mightywords.com/freedom/amendement_02.asp Spread it far and wide, we need to correct these people.

You can only read a sound-bite summary....to read the whole essay (24 pages!!) you must buy it.
Bite me...wouldn't spend a handful of cow **** on this perverse distortion and infamnia.

You and me, both, Gorthaur....I can't express my outrage at this pre-meditated , contemptuous, lying distortion and abjectly disloyal bilge. I didn't like the man before...I loathe the whore now

(addendum)...I got so pissed I didn't notice that you actually can download it for free....this is so perverse I can't ............

Summary
There are 10 provocative American Perspectives pieces available
to download and print for FREE. See all of them!

The gun has become a terrifying part of American culture, used in many
thousands of homicides and suicides, playing a part in far too many
fatal accidents. In a nation of 260,000,000 people, there are an
estimated 230,000,000 guns in private hands. The results of this
grotesque proliferation of private weaponry are shameful and not
surprising. Each day's newspapers and television reports bring fresh
stories of gun- related slaughters, from Colombine High to a suburb of
Pittsburgh. Criminals kill with guns. Teenagers kill with guns. A
six-year-old recently killed a first-grade classmate with a gun.
Politicians dither. The corpses keep piling up.

In this essay, veteran journalist Pete Hamill analyzes the spread of the
gun culture, its roots in the distortion of the Second Amendment, the
racist origins of its growth, and the fear that keeps it alive. He catalogs
the human costs. He offers suggestions for true reforms, changes that
would take the gun out of American life, and add to the security of all
inhabitants of this country.[/quote]

Maybe I'm getting jaded. This is just typical Pinko nonsense, no more or less agregious than the sewage spewing from "Red" Dan Rather's lips or Rosie O' Porkrind.

Just can't get too excited tonight.

You boys aren't seeing the big pic....
This POS will be around forever..its touted as a literary and contemporary educational site.

There will be untold thousands of kids citing this in term papers as a bonafide source; others will make reference and it will spread like all well thought out lies do; search engines will link to it; dumb ass media reporters will cite it.

This is now here forever, just like syphilis

"This is here now forever, just like syphilis"

Yes, but there's a cure for syphilis, and there's a cure for the garbage they're printing. It would be interesting to see a "mirror Site" set up, with quotes from famous Americans that present an opposing point-of-view. Wish I had more time on my hands.....
