Dirty CZ75

I shoot several pistols and shoot nearly every week. My favorite handgun is my CZ 75 Shadow Target 9mm. I have wondered why the barrel and all the internal workings of the gun are filthy black after shooting only a few rounds. I have compared the results with a couple Walthers and a Beretta and shooting an identical number of rounds, these latter guns are relatively clean compared to my CZ and do not have the black deposits I see.

I've noticed the same thing with every CZ I've owned. They're internals seem to accumulate dirt/powder residue faster than some guns, I have no idea why though. The CZ-75 design likes to run relatively 'wet' compared to other guns, and they are more internally complicated, so I know that acts like a magnet for powder residue. Just remember that that shouldn't effect actual function. Several people on the CZ forums run their 75's and SP-01's through weekend shooting competitions and classes just fine with over 1000 consecutive rounds fired and only re-oil the rails and wipe down the barrel.

If your OCD though it is annoying!:)

Could it be,,,

Could it be you use different ammo for the guns,,,
And that the ammo for your CZ is especially dirty?

I'm just spit-balling here,,,
But I am somewhat OCD in cleaning my guns.

I haven't noticed any difference in the relative dirtiness of my semi's.

I have not observed my cZs getting dirtier than my other semi autos, but I do know my cZs will function a long time between cleaning.

I have three and a half CZ's (Kadet Kit is the half) and none of them get dirtier than any other pistol. I reload, and use fast burning, clean powder, but I also shoot some factory occasionally, and cheap stuff at that.

I have a 75, 75B and a 75 TS. I shoot almost exclusively 9mm NATO (Winchester or IMI), and have not noted they get any dirtier than my Sigs, S&Ws, Berettas or any other of my 9s.

I have only used factory ammo -Win & Rem. If I reloaded, which I don't do for semi-autos, I would use faster burning powder. However, this is the gun that my cold, blue, fingers, etc. would have to dislodge. Thanks for all your input.
