Pretty dead set on a xl 650 being my next press. The question I cant seem to find out is can I buy a caliber conversion kit minus the dies? I alrady have dies for all my calibers. Do I have to buy the whole shebang or can I peice meal the needed parts?

No you do not have to buy the dies to change caliber. Nearly everything for the 650 can be bought individual or packaged in a way that will get you just what you need.

I ended up buying some of the Dillion dies because they are simpler to set up in the 650 than some of my other dies.

Dies not included in the caliber conversion kits purchased from Dillon.
On my XL650 I started with Dillon dies as it seemed to make the learning curve on the 650 easier.

Seamaster hit the head on the nail,
Dillon caliber change kits don't come with dies, but I would get another tool head for each caliber so your dies stay in adjustment...

You can buy virtually anything from Dillon one piece at a time.

I have quick change kits for my 650 on each caliber I load ...with dies, powder measure and the powder check die installed and ready to go.....380, 9mm, .40, .45acp, .38 spl, .357 mag and .44 mag....

Dillon dies come apart easier than some for cleaning.....and the bullet seating die and final crimp die are separate dies....some dies do that in 1 step / I prefer the Dillon setup.

But adding these things a little at a time are fine too....in Lynnwood area .... Precise shooters and Adventure sports both have inventory on dies and a few accessories and parts if you don't want to go direct to Dillon & wait for shipment. They often have a 650 in Stock too...

Yeah the long term plan is to slowly add more tool heads so I dont have to monkey with adjusting dies.

Have all but one of my calibers covered for dies.

Thanks for telling me about precision shooter BihJim, hadn't heard of them. I always try to fit in a stop at adventure sports when Im up north.
