Digital Scale

Before I toss my Cabela’s XT-1500 reloading scale in the trash, I want to see if someone has a fix for my problem.

I follow the calibration instructions but cannot calibrate the unit.

Any suggestions?

Still air helps and is needed by some scales. Electric lighting (particularly fluorescent) can also be picked up by the scale's circuits, if it is "too close".

Power might be inconsistent, like a low battery, or line power that fluctuates (or surges). Temperature can have an effect.

You might be making an error when following the instructions.

There might be an error in the instructions.

Or your scale might be a POS...

Lots of things are possible, some, more likely than others.

44AMP,

I have used this scale for 10+ years.

You may be onto something with temperature. I live in the Valley of the Sun (Arizona) where temperatures can reach a chilly 115 degrees (today will be 112 - time to break out down coats). The owner’s manual does not address temperature range. I never use it during the summer but decided to weigh something non-reloading. I willtake it inside for a cool down then see if it works.

Thanks.

That's a good shot to take. All the load cell types have temperature compensation systems, but their range is not unlimited.
