Different take down?

Hey, all! I swear I've seen pictures of a repeating shotgun that the barrel and mag tube come off of the receiver together. Am I imagining things, or has this been produced at some point in time? Thanks!

Something like this...

There are also similar take-down rifles...

There were some older Marlins that did the same, but not with the interrupted thread arrangement on the Winchesters. There are some solid-frame 1897s, by the way, but I believe all Model 1912s were take-down.

LOL! I Googled all over the place, but didn't even think to look for Winchesters because we've got a few 1300's in the house. That right there is funny! Thanks, everybody!

Actually, there was a solid frame Model 12, called the Model 25.

If you want a cool takedown feature, get a close-up look at the Stevens 520/30.

Anybody know whether the Norinco clone of the 12 is worth looking at? Most of the JMB/Win replicas that I've put my hands on leave something to be desired. The fit just isn't there for them.

Do you mean the Model 93/97 copies? I've handled one, never shot one. Lots of guys who shoot Cowboy style shooting seem to like them, however.

Google "Coyote Capp". He customizes 97's and reprodictions, and is a wealth of information on the subject.

FWIW I'd own one of the reproductions in a hearbeat. I'll probably pick up one of the 93's when the wife isn't looking..
