I was shooting my FAL last weekend from the bench. I had a really good cheek weld, but apparently not a good enough grip on the rifle, 'cause the sight assembly came back under recoil and put a gouge out of my glasses lense. D'OH! Now I have to put up with a knick in my lense until I get around to getting a new prescription. Oh Well.
Does anyone make a FAL buttstock in either a longer length, or different profile?
As soon as my parts arrive, I'm going to move to an optical sighting system, which is going to require my head to be higher. In addition, for proper eye relief, I might want a longer stock also. For comparison, the buttstock-rear sight distance on an A2 AR upper is about 12.5 inches. On the FAL, it's 10.5.
Any ideas? I know DSA sells an "ITC Cheekrest" which would raise my head a bit.
