Different recoil springs for CZ 75B Compact?

Do I need to get different springs if I want to shoot +P or +P+ ammo? Where would I get them? And where would I get a regular spare...I lose things...

And what in the world are these wacky springs made of? They're like springs within springs.

Great gun, BTW.

Best bet for information is CZUSA..Second best is Wolff Gun springs.. Either one should be able to help..

I've shot a box or two of +P ammo in my CZ75 PCR (compact with alloy frame) and have not had any problems. I don't know if the manufacturer recommends this or not - I've never worried about it. I suppose heavier springs wouldn't hurt (if they work reliably), but I don't think they are really necessary. I suppose a cautious manufacturer would be reluctant to officially recommend ANYTHING out of the ordinary with any pistol - but I think at least +P ammunition is considered pretty normal for all modern high-quality 9mm pistols. +P+ might be different - I don't see much of it around. But if I had some, I'd probably shoot it in my PCR without concern. That's just my take on this - I'm certainly not an expert or qualified to say what is or is not safe in any given pistol.

The manual doesn't say anything about +P or +P+ rounds. Plenty of CZ owners have shot these rounds in their guns without trouble. In fact, I've never heard of a single ammo issue with the CZ-75's (and I've been doing a LOT of research lately).

Of course, a heaver recoil spring will protect the gun better. Recoil buffers (polymer bushings) would help too.

...but do you NEED it? No.

I agree that my 75B Compact seems utterly reliable to this point. But I would think that very hot ammo would induce a different slide cycling rate. I'm not concerned about the longevity of the slide so much as its proper timing.

Shmackey....
CZ usa doesnt have other springs for the Compact. Wolf offers 18,20 & 22 lb springs. I have a 20 lb in my gun for all the hotter
ammo I shoot and seems like a good spring weight...the stocker is a 17 lb, but mine seems a little weeker than that.
Wolf also offers a tuning kit, with all of the above specified weights so you can tune your gun for your specific task at hand...
Carry w/ hotter ammo 20 lb, Target with standard...go 18 lb etc...
The whole kit it 17-18 $...good deal!

If your gun has the double spring...its older. My gun was made in 1999 and has the "twisted spring"...Get the Wolf...

Shoot well
