i e-mailed this reply but for everyone else. my testing showed that the 135 grain Corbon .40 auto was an awesome performer on lightly clothed targets. they tended, however to stop up, tumble and fail to expand when fired into test media covered with several layers of down, sweaters, jean material and leather. as a matter of fact a large number of the hollowpoints on the market failed when tested this way. many hollowpoints that worked like gangbusters on lightly clothed or bare targets failed in the heavy clothed tests. here in N.C. everybody dresses down in the summer and the thickest clothing you see here is a polo shirt. under these conditions the 135 Corbon is a perfect round. they hit like junior law rockets and hardly ever make it thru a chest sized target. the highly varible weather in our spring/winter/fall is another story. you can observe people dressed in layers of the very types of clothing that caused most hollowpoints to fail in my tests. many went from good expanders to dangerous over penetrators that exited the rear of my test media. the 165 Golden Saber .40 auto performed well expanding even when deliberatly stopped up with cloth. the reason i don't carry them all year round is largely based on a small stockpile of 135 grain Corbons on my shelf and that junior law rocket performance on basically bare or t-shirt targets. awesome. i am currently setting up testing on 155 and 165 grain Gold Dot .40 auto ammo. stand by for those results.
