Differences in Ruger P89 and P95D

The P-95 has a rigid Polymer frame where the P-89 has a larger alloy frame. The P-95 is an excellent first gun if you get it with the decoker-only. It's less maintainance because of the plastic frame and accepts all Ruger 9mm mags. The P-89 is too big for a 9mm in my opinion but it is an excellent gun also.

I bought my P-95 New for $269.00 + tax. The P-89 will probably be a bit more.

Mr. Goatherd:
The Ruger is rugged. It is overbuilt and will digest any ammo within the limits of reason. The owner's manual will tell you that any, any SAAMI specified round is okay. For the money, you can't beat it. I suggest looking for a new P 95 at the next Gun Show held in your area of residence. You can procure one for under $300.00 but act now while supplies last. Take care to keep it oiled properly. The investment cast slide is strong but it will rust due to the porrous nature of the metal whether you get a stainless steel or blued steel version.
