I was checking out the differences in the blocks of my cz's. My 83 has a very heavy block , my guess is around .040" thick.
The notch in the sear is also very large....its gonna catch and stay there. Ok, good for hammer down carry. Now I look at my 75 comp.. Its block is 1/2 as thick as the 83's at around .020" thick. The catch/notch in the sear is barely there...I know it isnt worn.
The edges are very sharp and clean. Its probably 25 % as deep as the one on my 83's sear. Is this normal?....its what creates the "half cocked" position....once past that position the hammer has free range to hit the firing pin. I dont understand why the
83 and 75 differ so much. If this is the firing pin block on the 75...I just went to condition one carry! Any feedback....thanks
and as always, Shoot well
