the DC stands for decocker. This model has a decocker only, which means no manual safety. The decocking level is spring loaded to pop back into the fire position once the hammer has been safely dropped. The non-DC model has a decocker that is not spring loaded and stays in the down position (safe) until the shooter pushes it up.
