difference between pt99 and pt92?

can anyone explain to me the difference between "Fixed Front, Drift Adjustable Rear" and "Fixed Front, Micrometer Click Adjustable Rear"?

I've always like the beretta design in the 92 fs but I like the hk usp cocked and locked option. After firing the beretta and the hk back to back I seem to still like the beretta more. But I like the hk's safety a lot more. After reading about the taurus pt 9x series I have be fairly sold on these models. Only now I'm just trying to figure out what's the difference between the pt 92 and the pt 99.

Any suggestions thanks in advance.

UltimaSE,

I've been eyeing the Taurus and the Berettas lately too. I think the difference with the sights is the 92 is basically fixed sights (although the rear can be crudely adjusted by tapping it right or left in the dovetail) while the 99 has a true adjustable rear target sight. You'll have to decide which will best suit your needs. For carry you'd want to opt for the fixed sights (lower profile, less snagging). For strictly range/target shooting the 99's adjustable sight would work well. Good shooting.
