bigmark300, you may be new, but you have been around enough to understand that the logic you propose in support of your query is pretty darned poor and intentionally sensationalized.
Did Ted Turner contribute to terrorists? Not any that you know about or heard about and certainly no more than you likely did as well by the same logic. He may have given a lot of money to the UN, but after his money went there, it was no longer his money. So unless you are saying the UN is a terrorist group and responsible for 9-11 (FYI 911 is an emergency phone number, not a date). If Turner contributed to the UN, then that is to whom he gave money. If the UN gave money to a given country or group, that is the work of the UN, not the donors to the UN.
Careful what you imply. If you paid taxes to the US Government, British, or any government that is a member of the UN, your government gave money to the UN and therefore by the same reasoning that you imply Ted Turner gave to terrorists, you gave to terrorists.
That is really something of grasping democratic logic, sort of like blaming gun makers for what is done with their guns. It doesn't work.
On top of that, as Alvis noted, the money was apparently donated to a given fund within the UN to help children. If the UN mismanaged the money, then the fault is with the UN, not Turner.
Before you get too upset with the UN or Ted Turner, keep in mind that the US was a huge supporter of Bin Laden and his band first, then later of the early stages of Al Queda. Some of the arms being recovered in Afghanistan are arms we gave to Bin Laden and other freedom fighter to fight off their invaders, the Soviets, and yet they have used them against the US. Amazing.
