I bought 3 boxes of winchester super X 3' 12 gauge sabot slugs for $9.47 a box. I saw them listed in another post as less than $3! Are sabots realy that much more expensive than rifled or was wally world that far off?

"Are sabots realy that much more expensive than rifled ...?"

As a rule, yes- sabots are more expensive than rifled slugs. Unless your shotgun has a rifled barrel there is likely no advantage in shooting sabots in it.

Sabot slugs are all expensive, no matter what brand whereas I have seen the Foster type sell for as little a a buck a box. On the other hand, there is hardly a Foster type slug that can match a sabot for accuracy and downrange performance. I generally get around 2 inch or so groups with my Ithaca Deerslayer II. I can't do that with any other kind of slug.
