Did I do good?

Okay, I'm getting a Bushmaster XM15 E2S shorty A3. Is this a good one? I've done the research, and this seems to be my favorite. Any personal experiences? Comments?

Is this worth trading in my Mini-14?

How much will I get for a stainless, like new condition Mini 14?

What's a good price to get for my Springfield M6 scout?

Thanks

Chris

Yes the model bushmaster you are looking at is a fine rifle. I've got the same thing except fixed sights. It is definetely worth getting trading the mini 14 in for. The bushie is more accurate than the mini and mags are alot cheaer and easier to come by.

I've got that same rifle w/ the AK style compensator. I love it! Great shooter, and a heck of a lot of fun to "accessorize!"

Sundance,
I didn't look at the model you are getting but if you box and gift wrap the Mini14 you may get alittle more for it :D
I am sure you will be very happy.
Now you just need to check out the for sale areas at http://www.assaultweb.net for 20 and 30 round mags ;) and start collecting them by the bucket load. There are 12 NIX Center Ind there for $23.00 or Dr, Jekl has some new Colt 20 and some others.

Good luck and let us know what you pick out for you second AR  and pop in and say hi to the guys while over there.

Have fun

I have the same critter but for a 20" barrel. It will definitely shoot inside one MOA.

The previous owner had put a Tasco "High Country" 6X24 scope on it. I took it out today to see if a couple of weeks on rough roads in a 4X4 had moved it off aim; dead on and happy.

Hey, tell me sumpn: What's the deal with having a potfull of magazines? Why the 30- or 40-rounders? What do people do? Load up a bunch of mags, go to the range and go bangity-bang-bang?

I bought the Bushie 'cause the price was right, from a guy a bit tight for $. I tote it in the truck because there is a pack of feral dogs around. It's quicker shooting than a bolt action, and more range than my Model 12 with 000.

Not knocking the gun, but I don't quite see the point.

<<<<What's the deal with having a potfull of magazines?>>>>

Well the magazine is designed to be expendable and unless the 94 law sunsets, ya gotta stockup fer the expected lifetime of the AR.

Gotta buy a few 30 rounders fer the great grand kids

That's because whoever dies with the most toys, WINS!!

Aren't you playing??

Glad to hear someone else has that utilitarian attitude with guns as I do. Friends of mine have hissy-fits when they find me out in the woods cuttin trees with my FN49 sniper rifle laid against a tree.
I always thought you needed 3 guns - a big one, a small one, and a shotgun.

"When ya die, whoever has the most toys is still dead."

There ain't no shortage of toys at "Art's playpen", although most of them have a few scars--just like me.

"The magazine is designed to be expendable." Well, they are a bit on the cheesy side, compared to my 1911 magazines. I have some GI mags which were new around 1970 , and have survived numerous practice sessions and IPSC matches. I just figured that AR mags would last if taken care of.

That still doesn't explain the penchant for 30-round and 40-round mags, over the 20s.

Art,
The potfull of mags is just an AR addicts deal
Ya just gotta have another mag when yur down, maybe ya go and looks at another AR when you had a fight with the wife.
AR Mags are the about the same as chocolate is the a lady :p
so get out and get your extra mags.

Hi,

I have never owned an AR-15 type rifle, I am thinking about getting a Bushmaster in the $600-700 range and i want your guys opinions on which model of the Bushy to get? I want nothing less than the 20" barrell.

Thank You

Erfan35, this is your lucky day! Such a deal I got for you!

Bushie, match target, free-floated, 1/2 to 3/4 MOA by personal test. (See my post above; also, my first thread about AR-15 questions via the "Search" function.)

If interested, email me.

Can deliver, saving tax and freight and hassle.
