I have no idea as to who he is. However, the local "public radio" keeps talking about how bad he is. The more "evidence" they trot out to convince me, the more i like the guy. Wonder if they realize how much free publicity they are giving the VP-to-be.

He voted against the "plastic" (read: polymer framed) gun ban and the "cop-killer" (read: rifle) bullet ban.

I'm with FUD, he's okay in my book.

He loves the evil little Glock pistols. That is why I LOVE CHENEY so! :)

Seriously, he's as pro-gun as any man breathing if you look at his votes....

Makes the Democrats have seizures :)

When they annoumced Cheney as GW's running mate, I will admit my reaction was "Who?".

After looking into his record, this was the single smartest thing that they could have done. Cheney is a boy scout ethically and morally. There are no Monica's in his background, he is a solid Constitutionalist, he ran the civilian side of Desert Storm. It was Cheney that really pulled the cooalition together and told George senior when everything was ready to unlease the Army on Sadam. He is a moral man, who uses he head and doesn't bend to political pressure when it goes against his grain. He is also brilliant. When the debats come, it will be interesting to see Cheney basically dismember whom ever the dems put up against him.

Cheney was simply the best choice. The first official act of GW seems like a home run. Things are looking brighter and brighter.

When they announced Cheney as GW's running mate, I will admit my reaction was "YES!". ;)

I have been an admirer of his for a long time - before OD Shield/Storm. When I heard that Pres. Bush was thinking about keeping Quayle as his veep, I wrote the WH to say he would do much better to choose Cheney for that go 'round. Bush might have even considered that and Cheney declined. Who knows how history might have changed if he had done that. I think Qualyle, though a very smart guy, was a detriment because of the perception the public had of him.

Maybe in 8 years.

In my book, Cheney (sp?) is the better deal for us RKBA guys/gals. But the public seems to like dubya alot.

Plastic guns, Cop Killer bullets.....PAAALEASE.

Yes I will vote for W, because I'm scared of AlGore. Then hopefully I'll get to vote for Mr. C. Future bright, Shades on.

The media's treatment of Cheney has been typical. When they wrote that he was the one charged with "vetting" VP candidates, they couldn't lavish enough praise on him. Then, when he was named the VP nominee, it was time to rip him to shreds. They did the same thing to Henry Hyde, to Fred Thompson, and countless others who went from being "distinguished, respected, admired" to being "partisan hacks." If the media's darling, John McCain, had been nominated, they'd been tearing him apart right now as well.

Anyone who's an enemy of the mainstream media is my friend. If I don't have the time to research a low-level candidate, I just vote against the person endorsed by our local paper. It works.

Cheney was the Sec of Def under Bush [*not*
Reagan] and proved to all that he (Cheney)
had no idea of what it means to be a honorable man: when his traitorous boss, that infamous lips-reader, reneged on the only promise he'd made to the electorate to get elected, Cheney *did not* resign, but instead chose to carry on together with the other swindlers as if nothing's happened.
He tried to run for president in 1996, but
got no support during the primaries and quit.

Lawcat, Cheney's voting record is as conservative as any I've ever seen. He was one of a small handful of congressmen to vote against the "plastic gun" ban, and the "cop killer bullet" ban. If you have any dirt on him, please let me know.

It really doesn't matter, for the Monied Elite will only alloow people in office that they can control, and of course they have many littler men in appointed positions that do much of the controlling of our nations policies. Also they have the Fed with which they control the economy and thereby the administration. Remember that the Bush Family are oil men and fall in step with the other oil elites, like Rockefeller.

Also remember that the Bush family owned the Oil Terminal at Baharain, which is one of the prime reasons for the Gulf War! Think about it.....
