Detonics MTX

Does anybody know the status of this project?

I've often wondered why this idea hasn't taken off yet. Clearly the top shooters dominate the circuits with the 2011 design. The 2011 is a very inherently easy to shoot design for most. Making a reliable and "combat ready" version just seems like a no-brainer. Take out the need for hand fitting and you get more reliability, drop in part replacements, and lose out on only a little bit of accuracy (which most of us won't notice anyway). It seems like Detonics may have stalled out on this idea, which is too bad. I would have happily forked over the money.

Somebody please make us a service style "2011" that is under $1200 and we will line up to give you cash.

I have an STI 2011 45 acp built on an aluminum frame. The gun is far fairly light and holds 14 rounds with one chambered. It is accurate and reliable (well now it's reliable since I replaced a broken sear.). I won it in an auction - think I paid about $1,200 for it. Fun gun to shoot - very accurate, but there's just not a lot of love for this thing; at least none at the Rock Island auction I attended.
