Determining Choke on NEF Pardner 12 Gauge?

I recently acquired a 12 gauge New England Firearms Pardner model single shot. I bought it mostly out of nostalgia, as my first firearm was the similar H&R model in 20 gauge, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I know that the barrels come in different chokes. I bought the shotgun second hand, and the owner didn't know the choke. Is there any way I can find out?
 
If its a fixed choke - it will say what it is on the barrel. Like "12GA - MOD"(Modified). Or "12GA - IM" (Improved Modified".. etc.. etc.

If it has interchangeable chokes, you can pull the tube and see what is stamped on it.

If either method above fails - use a caliper and measure the muzzle bore. With that measurement we can compare it to certain diameters within industy spec for a certain choke. IE: .727-.732" = cylinder for example.
 
LOL! Yeah, that "MOD" would mean a modified choke..

Enjoy your NEF.. That model you have right there was my very first shotgun, a 28" 12ga mod. choke. I also bought the 26" 20ga modified and the 26" .410 full choke guns in the following weeks after getting my 12ga back in my younger days.
