Hey guys, made this the other day, let me know what you think. The Mosin bit is towards the end, but this technique has some uses.

Nice work.

I did something similar on a rifle. I squeegied in a bit of slow drying cement, packed gold leaf into engraved lines, ran a dab of water based polyurethane into the lines, then scraped off excess with a razor blade.

Genuine gold lettering in a total of a couple hours work.

Looks pretty cool

My wife wanted to watch the video with me and she thought it was pretty funny that you would be using nail polish on your gun. I have thought about doing it on my sights for a while, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm thinking about doing white on the back two and red on the front.

I did this to my Glock. Not this exact video, but another I saw on Youtube. Came out great. Got a couple of compliments from the guys at the LGS :)

Well, you win, lol.

Seriously. Anyone who has roll markings or engraving on steel can follow pretty much that same process, using gold leaf and get great results. Using leaf makes it look real, where cold paint looks awful.
