Desert Eagle

Should I buy one? If yes, then what caliber 44Mag or 50AE?

This is strictly for shock value, so please offer other suggestions for such.

I prefer semi autos, however, if a wheel gun comes to mind that OK.

This is just my very humble opinion, but I'd go w/ the DE in 44 mag. Sure, when you say that you've got a "50" you get the oooh's and ahhhh's, but the 44 mag is more fun to shoot.

If I were to buy a huge pistol, it'd be a LAR Grizzly. A 1911-style auto in .45 Win Mag. They're more comfortable and less cheesy than Desert Eagles.

No-if you wanted Cheese, you'd get the 50 in Gold.

If you want a fun one you can afford to shoot- get the 44.
Do you want to pull the trigger and send about a dollar down range everytime?
The answer to that question made up my mind. I got the 44.

I've got a DE .50 AE in Bright Chrome. Now, who was it that said DE's were cheesy???

Anyway, the thing is a blast to shoot. Much more fun than my .44 Mag Anaconda. You can find ammo for about 17-20 bucks a box (20 per box), which is not that outrageous when compared to .44 mag ammo. The recoil is not that bad, but the muzzle flash is awesome.

What about Magnum Research's BFR? That oughta have some shock value at the range. 45-70 5 shot SA revo for the uninitiated, like a Super Redhawk on steroids. I will have one in a month or two.

I go with the 50AE. You can get other handguns that chamber 44 mag but only the DE chamber 50AE (as far as I know).

Personally I think the DE is a waste of good money but if you like it that much go get it.

Ammo price???

C'mon guys he's got other pistols that are practical. Yeah the 44 magnum is a more pratical caliber than the .50 no arguement there, but nothings going to change the fact that the D.E. is not really a practical gun so why worry about it.

The 50 Desert Eagle is the 44-28-36 bleached blond stripper of the firearms world. The 44 magnum D.E. is just the same girl in sensible shoes ;)

Come on you wimps! Get the Casul 45-70 revolver.. a cyinder that is 4+ inches long (longer than the barrel on several of my firearms) and kicks like a pi**ed-off Georgia Mule...:D

I remember the first time I touched off a round with my DE .50. It took me about a minute to get to the second shot because I couldn't stop giggling.

The DE is far from practical, but if you like the blondes which BlueDuck described (and I do), you'll like this gun.

Comped DE in .50 AE, Gold plate with profuse silver inlay. Mother of pearl grips with inset one carat zircons.

Gonna shock em, get em in the eyes and ears at the same time.

WOW!

Come on, for SHOCK VALUE? You had to ask? .50 AE all the way. Shock value = to hell with practicality and get the biggest baddest meanest looking you can.

Personally, I think the most shocking is the Serbu Super Shorty. Also the most impractical?

Go for the Stainless version for durability and the light steel will make the hole seem all that bigger. Of course the parked/blued versions look bad as hell too.

That's the point with these things, right?

a BFR or a Casul???
Neither looks nearly as intimidating or badass as the Desert Eagle.

I happen to think the blonde as described above would be a great, and thats a pretty good comparison there, although I wouldn't want her to be a stripper. Don't want other guys touching her! Mine all Mine!

Mother of pearl grips would sadly fall apart on any desert eagle, couldnt possibly handle the recoil.

Polished chrome with Gold appointments- in the catalog- surely the most gorgeous DE there is.

ah just get the .50 and if you need more shock value powder coat it purple and pink and let them try to make fun of that !:D
