Lets see some pics of your Desert Eagles.
Trying desperetly to talk myself into plunking down an equal weight in cash for a new matte or bright nickle .50.
For the owners of the polished Nickle and Chrome Eagle..is it hard to keep new looking and scratch free? I plan to shoot mine as much as I can afford..and would be a tad worried about the polished finishes..my polished Vaquero is in bad need of re-bufing after a few thousand rounds. When I wie it down it gets tiny scratches, are the chrome and nickle Eagles like that?

Now lets see some Desert Eagles.

Don't have any pictures, and I've only put 20 rounds through my bright chrome DE .50, but it still looks and shoots great. No jams, and surprisingly accurate. The best part is that stupid smile you get after you touch off a round, not to mention the look on the face of everyone else at the range when they look over and say "what the he** was that???".

Its not chrome, but its looks darn good.....marked .44cal on slide, barrel is marked .50AE (came from the factory as a .50AE)- this is the newest DE, I changed the garbage plastic grips to the optional Hogue, udjustable sights (free from MR, due to an inconvenience).

Desert Eagles cost too much, however there are some instances where nothing else will do. Here's a fine example.

Edited because I didn't realize I was posting someone's personal pic. Sorry Joe.

Ummm, was that link really necessary???? This is my pistol, this is my gun. Repeat after me. Snubbies go to the revolver forum too. :barf: Mods HELP!!!

Probably a bit off topic since it's not about the .50AE... But CDNN has (or had until last week) the DE in .357 mag for $650. That would not be too expensive to shoot. I was tempted :)

PS5

I'll bet if you pull one of those out on a Burglar he'll probably go to another house, steal their stuff and bring it back to you:eek:

Don't have a pic of mine,it's a blued model.Weighs as much as an anvil,costs a buck a round to shoot,goes BOOOM! when you fire it,totally impractical,and I love it!

no personal experience but...

i've heard from quite a few folks at my range that the de are high maintenance weapons....especially in the higher calibers. again, forgive me if i'm wrong.

Spooker is so right! LOL.

As far as the hi maintenance issue..The gun I shoot has at least 2500 rnds through it and seems mechanically sound. It shoots
like it did when it was NIB...maybe better.
(I dont know the abuse equivalancy ratio for the 50 AE round, but
2500 rnds in this gun would probably equal ALOT more in a 45 acp
handgun) I cant answer with anything other than that.

The gun was Hard Chromed when new and still looks good.
The finishing company the gun was sent to claims the chrome
extends the life of the pistol....I cant disagree.

This a link for a pistol for sale on Auction Arms...which I believe makes it ok to post...we are just looking! Its actually a pretty good deal with all of the extras.
