Desert Eagle Brass Ejection Problem

Actually, this is a "thank you" to all of you at TFL. For months I tried to solve my failure to eject/jamming problem with my Desert Eagle .44 mag. I tried rigorous cleaning, maticulus lubricating, adjusting cartridge over all length, replaced a broken ejector pin, etc. I was so disappointed with the gun I was almost ready to trade it, but I love to "feel the power" as they say, and it always shoots very accurately.
Then I read in one of the threads here on TFL that weak springs could cause brass to be thrown in different directions. I had that problem also. Often, when an empty case was ejected, it would hit me in the face.
So I ordered a spring tune-up kit from Magnum Research and put in the new springs. The old springs were over an inch shorter than the new ones. The new springs are so strong I can hardly rack the slide, but the gun functions great! Why didn't I do this sooner??
Thanks again
