Derringers... besides Bond Arms, any worth owning ???

I have several mini guns, none that I shoot regularly ( except my NAA Mini )

I have been looking at derringers lately... ( I don't have one yet ), to add to the collection... I'd prefer something bigger than 22 caliber since I already shoot my mini quite a bit... I want something "shootable" even though I likely won't carry it... I understand lots of them are pretty cheaply made, Bond Arms ( from what I know ) are one of the best...

Gun Broker has like 8 pages of derringers listed, any others worth looking at ??? I'm not looking to spend $800.00 or more on an original Remington rim fire, but if they were made well, & cartridges were still available for cowboy action or ??? I might consider a less pristine example, but would really prefer a center fire ( reads reloadable ) cartridge...

but that looks to me like a Davis or Cobra clone.

HJS - out of business made a single shot Sharps clone in 380 as well as a 22LR (which you don't want). Iver Johnson says they are making a Sharps 22 also - but haven't seen it.

I have a Davis in 38spl. Close range is in order and you WILL have to do trigger work. The best we could guess at is out of the box trigger pull was around 13-16 lb pull. I reworked the hammer and sear and have it down to a reasonable 8 lb pull. If you go this route slow and a very little material removed in each try. I also removed 1 1/2 coils of the hammer spring.

I have a couple of High Standard OU .22 Magnum derringers, one blued, the other nickle plated. I bought the blued one, and my Father bought the nickled one, and it passed to me after he died. I never carried one as a primary CCW, but when I was a police officer I did carry mine in a holster sewn inside my boot top in case things ever really went sideways. I don't trust the .22 Magnum to stop a man, but it just might, and the muzzle blast and flash is ferocious. I knew other cops who carried similar derringers, and about half of them were loading their little pistols with birdshot loads, intending to wait for close contact and shoot for the face. I eventually put the HS derringer away and started carrying a J frame S&W .38 like most of the officers.
