Need help identifying the model number and age of a Derringer I picked up. Left side of barrel has stamped " MANFU'D AT THE DERINGER RIFLE & PISTOL WORKS PHILA. PA." and top of rib has "DERINGER PHILADA". No other markings except for the serial number stamped in three locations. Pictures below. Thanks for looking and any information is greatly appriciated.

From the length of the cylinder it looks to in 32 S&W caliber. If so it is a Deringer 32 Caliber Pocket Model (That is the model name, est. 4000 made). 1874 to 1879. After Henry Deringer died in 1868, relatives tried to cash in on the name and for several years produced small pocket revolvers. Flayderman's 8A-050, Listed Good 150 Fine 375:) Hope that helps

Thanks Ron. I believe it is .32. Ser. # 20XX so its probably somewhere in the middle of dates.

IIRC, that is the last Deringer model ever made. Reportedly, S&W made lawsuit noises, the Deringer Co. stopped production and folded shortly thereafter. I have two of them, one nickel about 95%+; the other factory engraved. The main difference from the S&W tip ups is the latch which is operated by the button at the bottom of the frame.
